February is undeniably revered as the month when love conquers all, shows of emotion are bolstered, and baring your heart is not only encouraged, but expected. A single day during the coldest month of winter is when hearts become abundant, red is sprinkled everywhere, and chocolatiers are busy from morning til night making edible arrangements of affection.

And then there’s every other day of the year and the very important fact that the most important love you can receive is from none other than yourself. While self-love is crucial to a healthy life, it can sometimes be the hardest love to come by. The best gift you can give yourself is the time and grace to take a good look in the mirror and appreciate the person looking back at you.

So, now that Valentine’s day is over and February is coming to an end, let this serve as a reminder that loving yourself is not a once-a-year proposition. Nurturing that love comes with the permission to mentally send yourself a well-deserved Valentine on any random day during each and every month of the year. And a box of chocolate never hurts either!

"I Am Enough" by Grace Byers. We are all here for a purpose. We are more than enough. We just need to believe it. Say it, and believe it! These inspiring phrases are designed for children to repeat themselves—to help them claim their inner courage and power.
